By now we are all aware of the severity of COVID-19 and likely exhausted from the anxiety of it all. At Strive Baseball, we pride in improving our athletes' skills along with their wellbeing. In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and recommendations to reduce disease transmission, we are bringing the Stay Safe & Healthy principle to the forefront. We have cancelled all of our activities since March and have encouraged our players to focus in their school work and improve their baseball skills from home.
Our coaches are monitoring closely the situation and are hoping our athletes will step to the diamond sooner rather than later. In addition, our administration staff is working closely with the City of Calgary in order to provide a safe environment for our current and upcoming athletes in the months to come. We would like to thank Winsport Canada for providing At-Home workout plans and monitoring our athletes' wellbeing during this difficult time.
Strive Baseball will also like to thank all of the frontline workers for their bravery and courage to fight the pandemic. Stay safe everyone
"The Strive Baseball program has exceeded our expectations on many levels. Since we have participated in other baseball programs, it’s easy to compare the many benefits Strive Baseball has to offer. The Strive coaches identify players abilities and potential for growth and development in an environment that incorporates fun and teamwork.
It’s not just baseball development. Coaches share, role model and instill healthy life skills, that players will benefit from not just on the baseball diamond but throughout their lives. I remember the one “end of the practice talk” the coaches had with the players about how to respect the practice facility by leaving it cleaner than the way they found it and that players are required to attend practice in a clean uniform.
Strive is different from other programs through the way they conduct their practices and demonstrate a genuine care for each of the players. The practices are designed so players are kept moving, they get lots of reps, and are they are constantly being coached while performing the reps so the skill is practiced correctly. Since players are enjoying themselves, they don’t even realize how much they are learning.
This interactive learning is not only shared by coaches but also provides the older players the opportunity to encourage and mentor the younger players during the practice as well. This builds confident and camaraderie within the program and among the players.
In conclusion, it’s about getting value for your money. I highly recommend the Strive Baseball program to families who wish to participate in an organized, transparent and engaging program where respect and individual development are the focus."
